Behind JaOcCo: The Realities of an Independent Launch

The Swiss context

In Switzerland, a company is not required to register for VAT as long as its annual turnover remains below CHF 100,000. This is the basis on which I launched JaOcCo: a small, independent brand, still in its early stages, where every order counts.

What we found

I was already paying VAT on my purchases from European suppliers, and I logically assumed that this was sufficient for our customers as well. Experience has shown that, for cross-border shipments, the reality is more complex: some Swiss customers received an additional customs or VAT invoice, even though a tax had already been paid upfront.

What we are putting in place

To simplify and avoid this type of inconvenience, I officially registered for Swiss VAT. The goal is clear: to streamline the experience, clarify billing, and ensure greater consistency between our purchases and your deliveries.

A word for our customers

Thank you for supporting a young Swiss brand that's moving forward step by step. If you receive an unexpected tax notice, please write to us and we'll find a solution quickly.

Our imagination, your identity.
