What does the CPSIA standard mean?
What is the CPSIA standard?
The CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is the U.S. regulation that governs the safety of products intended for children. It sets strict limits on chemical substances, materials and printing methods used in children’s items.
What CPSIA actually checks
This regulation ensures that products designed for children are safe and compliant with U.S. federal requirements. Testing covers:
- lead content in inks, dyes and materials;
- absence of phthalates in plastic components;
- product durability (seams, parts that could detach);
- safe printing and labelling requirements;
- traceability through compliant labeling.
Why JaOcCo uses this standard
Because some of our products are intended for children, safety is non-negotiable. CPSIA-compliant items use safe, tested inks and follow strict U.S. federal safety regulations for children’s products.
This standard applies mainly to our Kids All-over T-Shirt and certain printed items designed for children.
What this means for customers
A CPSIA-compliant product has been thoroughly tested, reviewed and deemed safe for children. It offers parents the reassurance of choosing a robust, verified and traceable item.
In short: validated safety, non-toxic inks and peace of mind.
