What does the European GPSR regulation mean?

What is the GPSR regulation?

The GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) is the new European regulation designed to strengthen product safety across the EU. It replaces the former GPSD directive and introduces significantly stricter requirements, especially for imported products and online sales.

What the GPSR actually regulates

GPSR does not certify a material or textile fibre. Instead, it ensures that all products placed on the European market are safe for consumers. Key requirements include:

  • enhanced safety obligations for all products sold in the EU;
  • clear seller responsibility, including for online shops;
  • mandatory product traceability (labelling, information, origin);
  • risk assessment of materials, construction, detachable parts, flammability, etc.;
  • transparency and information duties for consumers.

Why JaOcCo applies this regulation

Since JaOcCo sells in Europe, all our products available in the EU must comply with GPSR. It ensures that every item meets the legal standards for safety, labelling, transparency and traceability.

GPSR applies to all JaOcCo products sold within the European Union – whether organic, recycled or non-certified.

What this means for customers

For European customers, this regulation guarantees that every JaOcCo product meets the newest and strictest EU safety requirements.

In short: more transparency, more safety, and full compliance with EU standards.
