What does the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification mean?

What is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification?

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification is one of the most widely recognised textile labels worldwide. It ensures that a finished product contains no harmful substances above the strict safety limits set by the independent OEKO-TEX® organisation.

What OEKO-TEX® actually tests

Unlike what many people believe, OEKO-TEX® does not certify whether a fibre is organic or recycled – it certifies the health and safety of the finished product. Every component of the garment is tested: fabric, threads, labels, prints, zippers and more.

The tests include checks for:

  • heavy metals (lead, cadmium, nickel)
  • formaldehyde
  • allergenic dyes
  • pesticide residues
  • phthalates and plasticisers
  • VOCs (volatile organic compounds)

Why JaOcCo uses this certification

At JaOcCo, we want every piece to be comfortable, durable and safe to wear. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 ensures that our textiles are tested in independent laboratories and stay below all critical health thresholds.

The certification appears on several Premium items and on part of our all-over collection.

What this means for customers

An OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified garment means that every component has been tested and validated as safe for the skin – including for children.

In short: fewer harmful substances, greater safety, and textiles suitable for everyday use.
